Welcome! The NMSTRA is the collective voice of the New Mexico short-term rental community. We are residents, hosts, local businesses, and other advocates who understand and protect the rights of homeowners to responsibly rent their properties, who believe in fair and reasonable regulations of short-term rentals, and who depend on the value that private hosting brings to our state’s economy.
The New Mexico Short-Term Rental Association is 501(c)(6) organization registered with the Secretary of State of New Mexico.

Economic Impact STRs Contributed to New Mexico in 2023
NEW MEXICO SHORT-TERM RENTAL ECONOMIC IMPACT REPORT:
Short-term rentals are essential to the economies of Santa Fe and New Mexico. In 2023 alone, short-term rentals contributed over $1.01 billion to the state’s economy, generating income for more than 17,000 New Mexican households and making up 0.53% of New Mexico’s entire economy.
