Update: Rio Rancho City Council Approves STR Ordinance

 The Rio Rancho City Council continued its previous discussion on a proposed short-term rental ordinance (O22). The majority of discussion centered around limiting STR owners to one rental every seven days, regardless of length of stay.

Ultimately, the Council voted to pass the ordinance starting with one rental per week, intending to revisit the issue and consider possible exemptions for the Balloon Fiesta. 

The ordinance is set to take affect July 1, 2025.
